Bruce Knivila

Bruce has been practicing law for nearly 30 years.  He worked at law firms both large and small before starting his own.  Although Bruce has both litigation and transactional experience, he currently focuses on business transactions and outside general counsel services.  He prides himself on providing value to clients. Bruce attended Georgetown law school, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was appointed to the Order of the Coif.

Representative matters include:

Deals:

  • Aviation Services Joint Ventures - Negotiated joint venture and licensing agreements to establish strategic alliances among aviation service companies.

  • Telecommunication Service Contracts - Negotiated multi-million dollar telecommunication service agreements for a Fortune 500 company.

  • Premier Aviation Fuel Network - Represented an aviation fuel distributor in establishing a premier aviation FBO network located at strategic airports throughout the United States.

  • China Joint Venture - Represented an aviation fuel supplier in establishing a joint venture with a state-owned entity in China to facilitate local aviation fuel supply.

  • Commercial Contracts - Drafted and negotiated commercial agreements of all types for clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. 

Cases:

  •  EPIC Aviation Canada, Inc. v. Petro Value Products Canada, Inc. (Case No. 10C-11369). Obtained a $1.4 million judgment in a contract dispute involving an aviation fuel supply agreement.

  • YWCA of Greater Portland v. Northwest Academy (Case No. 1302-01747).  Obtained the return of $300,000 in earnest money in litigation arising from a failed real estate transaction.

  • Gettig v. Enrich Media, Inc. and Blaha (Case No. 1201-00298).  Obtained a judgment of $175,000 in a securities fraud case.
